Jaffa Lam

Jaffa Laam Lam is Academic Head of Hong Kong Art School where she is also a Senior Lecturer and Subject Coordinator (Sculpture). Lam is additionally Project Director of Jockey Club Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) + Innovative Heritage Education Program. She received her BFA, MFA and Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a sculptor specialising in large-scale site-specific works of mixed-media sculptures and installations, which are primarily made with recycled materials. Her works often explore issues related to local culture, history, society and current affairs. Lam has been invited to take part in many local and international exhibitions and public art projects, as well as artist residency programs in Kenya, Taiwan, Bangladesh, China, United States and Canada. In 2006, she was awarded the Asian Cultural Council’s Desiree and Hans Michael Jebsen Fellowship and in 2013 represented Hong Kong in Japan’s Setouchi Triennale.
