Dr Drew Pettifer

Dr Drew Pettifer is an artist, academic, curator and non-practicing lawyer with research interests in the archive, photographic theory, queer theory, gender, power, desire, and social justice. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Art at RMIT University where he leads the Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) Hong Kong program and teaches across studio, art history and theory, and professional practice. His work is held in major national collections, including the NGV and AGSA, and he has been awarded residencies with arts institutions in Tokyo, Berlin, Perth, Melbourne, and Taipei. In addition to his art practice, he also works from time to time as an independent curator and arts writer. He is a regular contributor to Artist Profile and was host of the Australian contemporary art podcast FIELD WORK, which explored art in social context with experts including Michael Kirby, Peter Singer, and Adam Bandt.
