Prof Emerita Denise Ferris

Denise Ferris is Professor Emerita at ANU, where she was Head of School, Art & Design from 2013 – 2020. Previous Chair of ACUADS she was elected to the board Australian Council of Deans and Directors of Creative Art (DDCA) in 2020. Her writing focuses on the power of the visual to represent knowledge on the work of care, the maternal, and the institution of mothering. Her photographs are held in Australian public collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Library of Australia, and the Australian War Memorial.
